Enrichment

At SM6, we know that your time with us is about much more than exams and coursework. Yes, great qualifications matter, but so does the journey you take along the way. That’s why all our students are expected to dive into enrichment opportunities – something we make easier for you by pausing lessons for this purpose every Wednesday afternoon.

This time is your chance to try something new, build confidence, explore fresh interests and grow as an individual. Whether you’re into sport, want to dig into career-focused experiences or just want to do something fun, there’s something for everyone. Some options even have their own dedicated pages on our website, so you can find out more before you sign up.

Enrichment is about meeting new people, gaining independence, building resilience and developing skills that will help you shine beyond the classroom. It’s also a brilliant way to stand out when applying for university, apprenticeships or work – showing future employers and tutors the kind of person you are, not just the grades you’ve achieved.

And it doesn’t stop there. Alongside weekly sessions, we also run half-termly ‘SM6 Together’ events, bringing staff and students together for activities like ultimate frisbee or quiz nights. These are lively, memorable moments that help make SM6 feel like a real community.

So, whatever your passion – or even if you’re still discovering it – enrichment is here to make your SM6 journey fuller, brighter and more rewarding.
